?accessing ms sql server from php

We have got the problems trying to connect and query an MS SQL server (running under a Windows operating system) from php installed under Windows too.
Can you explain how it is possible to connect?

Have you uncommented the ini file to allow the engine to access the mssql.dll?

Have you copied the mssql.dll to the system folder in the root (either c:\winnt or c:\winnt\system32)?

DO you have a DSn set up for the sql server?

O/S version? Web server?
